A game has emerged over the past few months: trying to divine Facebook’s IPO filing based on COO Sheryl Sandberg’s speaking schedule. Back in the fall, when rumors were swirling about a Facebook filing by the end of the year, doubt was cast by Sandberg’s decision to speak at the Business Insider IGNITION conference, although there was some speculation that the filing would come shortly after.
Now, late May seems to be suspect.
According to CNN Money, Sandberg has agreed at Harvard Business School’s Class Day on May 23, 2012. Meanwhile, the latest rumor is that Facebook will go public in the second half of May, which raises obvious concerns.
Either Sandberg will celebrate the IPO publicly, or she won’t have much to say to HBS. Alas, the guesswork continues.
UPDATE: It looks like there’s something to this. Facebook’s IPO may be coming out in time to accommodate Sandberg’s speaking schedule. Here’s how >>
