Dropbox is one of Silicon Valley’s hottest start-ups right now. The online storage company proved it with a $250 mn Series B venture capital round announced this week. All the big names are involved: Goldman Sachs, Benchmark Capital, Greylock Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, RIT Capital Partners and Valiant Capital Partners. Familiar faces from the previous round – Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners – also came back for more.
So, what’s Dropbox going to do with all this cash? The usual: ‘accelerate its growth, make acquisitions, pursue strategic partnerships and grow the team’, according to AltAssets.
Founded in 2007, Dropbox has raised $257.2 mn so far.
